I've been in enough business meetings (and scientific conventions) where women get talked over all the time, and it bugs the hell out of me.
I think I know what bugs me about Teyla, too. She smiles too much. Or maybe just at the wrong moments. It comes across to me as being appeasing, when she shouldn't be.
