The books are amazing, too. I own all of 'em. reedfem gave me THIRD MAN OUT for Christmas, for which I totally adore her. (Well, it's one of the many reasons I adore her.)

Hee! I rec'd Third Man Out a while back, and then had to read as many of the books as I could get my hands on. There's two, I think,I haven't been able to find. But I totally didn't think to include any Donald/Timothy prompts over at smallfandomfest!! I'll definitely have to do that for our next round.

I got some of mine used (library copies, in pretty good shape) via one of the book sites I use - Amazon, Border, B&N, I might have even had to get one here and one there, 'cause it was kinda tough to find them all. I don't think they're in print anymore.

I went and read Nel's and Danvers' posts and I just want to request that if anyone does start a comm, will you pimp it in your journal too, so I can join? *g*

Another thought. If *coff* anyone wants to pimp the movies/books at smallfandomfest, that's encouraged. I noticed a lot of cool looking fandoms when I was compiling all the prompts, so the pimpage idea was born of me wanting to know more, lol. Wow! movies? how cool! I read the books years ago and didn't know there were movies!! \o/

I was also a fan of the Michael Nava, _Henry Rios_ series. Even went so far as to write him a ~fan~ letter. Have to admit that my feelings were hurt when he wrote back to tell me that he wasn't interested in discussing his fiction with a woman.

Guess I don't understand why an author wouldn't want readers from all walks of life... especially when they're buying your work.

Yeah... I kind of thought so too and I tried to put it into perspective... it was the mid 90's and maybe it was a matter of gay consolidation... something I experienced back in the Civil Rights days... my black friends telling me that they had to do it *on their own*... so I figured maybe that it was something similar...

But... since he'd responded first to my offer of criminal justice and legal defense experience, only rejecting that offer when he discovered I was female, well, it seemed a little bogus to me...

There's a bit of nudity but not a whole lot.Definitely suitable for watching on a plane. Although there is the danger of squealing out loud at their adorableness.

See, this is my problem. I watched an ep of REGENESIS on the plane once, and it was one where these 2 gay characters, who liked each other but weren't dating or anything, wrestled. They were sweaty on a mat. And then they...stare at each other, and then the phone rings and breaks the moment. But anyway. OMG. IT WAS SO HOT. I watched it twice with this insane grin on my face, and it was all I could do to keep calm and NOT SQUEE OR FLAIL IN PUBLIC.

So this is a definite concern.
