Some silliness. Because it's Monday
Dec. 3rd, 2007 10:42 amAnd Monday calls for silly. The following pointless bit of John-n-Rodney fluff was inspired by John's comment in "Missing", regarding the Athosian's Tendol Feast and Ruus wine. Also, because Rodney is so damn cute.

John finds Rodney flat on the ground in a small clearing. He worries that the Ruus wine has done him in, that he's going to have to carry Rodney back through the gate. Then he realizes that Rodney is conscious, arms spread wide, palms pressed against the earth, and that he's grinning wildly as he stares up into the blue, cloudless sky.
"Hey, buddy." John stands next him, staring straight down and blocking Rodney's view of the sky.
Rodney's grin grows impossibly wider. "Sheppard," he says with delight, all dimples and pink cheeks.
"Rodney," John answers, amused. "So, uh, what are you doing?"
Rodney grows serious. "Gravity."
"Oh." John nods. "I see."
"No, no, no." Rodney lifts his arms, then lets them fall back onto the grass. "Real gravity."
John frowns and crouches beside Rodney. "Not an imitation?"
Rodney looks happy again, mouth twisting into a crooked grin. "Nope."
John sits beside Rodney's stomach and waits as Rodney closes his eyes and rubs his hands on the ground. His throat moves as he swallows, his chin is pointed straight up at the sky and there are little golden chest hairs curling out from the collar of his t-shirt.
"I can feel it," Rodney whispers.
"Really?"
"The difference." Rodney opens his eyes and gazes at John with wonder. "I can feel the difference between real gravity and the artificial gravity. You know. In the jumpers."
John nods thoughtfully. "I always thought the jumper gravitons were just not right."
Rodney brightens. "Yes. Exactly." He wriggles happily, making his shirt ride up and John finds it absolutely necessary to kiss the pale strip of belly peeking out from beneath the hem.
"Oh," Rodney says.
John pushes Rodney's shirt up and kisses some more, then rubs his scratchy cheek against delicate skin.
"Ow, hey--"
Chuckling, John rubs his lips over the reddened area, then licks it. Rodney tastes like Rodney, a little salty, a little bit sweet. He follows a narrow trail of hair with his tongue, straight down to the waistband of Rodney's pants. Rodney's fascinated "oooh" makes him pause and grin before moving further down to nose at Rodney's crotch.
"John," Rodney sighs, hips moving.
John nuzzles the rough cloth of Rodney's pants, then then places his open mouth over the growing hardness beneath, happy at the thought of Rodney's cock pressing up to greet him. He breathes through the fabric and Rodney shivers.
"Hey, hey--don't--" Rodney's hands are at John's shoulders, tugging and pulling on his shirt. "Not out here."
John resists for a moment, pressing his mouth hard over Rodney's cock and Rodney makes a noise that's somewhere between a yelp and a squeak before dragging John away.
"What?" John asks, laughing.
"You drive me crazy," Rodney says fondly. He gathers handfuls of John's shirt and yanks. "C'mere."
John's hand slips on the grass and he lands heavily on Rodney's chest.
Rodney grunts. "Oof."
"Gravity," John says. "Look out for falling bodies."
Rodney rolls his eyes, then pulls him down into a kiss and it's sweet and tender and kind of crazy-making, too, because going to be hours and hours and maybe even forever before the feast is over and they're able to escape back to the city. He eases closer, until his body is pressed against Rodney's warm bulk, sunlight on the back of his neck, the smell of grass filling his senses and he really wouldn't mind spending the rest of the afternoon right there.
"We should head back," Rodney finally says, fingers ruffling through John's hair.
"Can't," John says, resting his forehead against Rodney's.
"No?"
John shakes his head. "Rodneyiton particles. Causes two-body coupling."
Rodney snorts gleefully.
"Yup." John rubs his mouth along Rodney's cheek and getting up does seem to be a daunting task. He thinks that maybe gravity is going to win this time. But then Rodney sniffs loudly, just before John smells it too. He raises his head. "Oh. Wow. I think they're done roasting that big roasty thing."
Rodney is already shoving him off. "I think they're definitely done with the roasting."
John rolls onto his back, arms spread wide and Rodney is already on his feet, pulling his shirt down and sliding a hand into his pants pocket to adjust himself. John grins up at him.
"Come on, come on, before Ronon eats it all," Rodney insists. He holds out a hand and John takes it, allowing Rodney to pull him up. The sudden change in height makes him dizzy. He bumps against Rodney and steals one last kiss.
Rodney leans into him. "Oh. This is nice, you know? Me and you. Being us."
"I know." And it is nice, and a little amazing, that he can just lean over and kiss Rodney like that, that they somehow came together. "It works," John adds with a nod.
"It does," Rodney says. He beams at John.
John brushes grass from Rodney's shoulder, happy they've worked that out. "Good. Let's get us some more food."
"And wine, let's not forget the wine." Rodney spins on a dime, hurrying toward the gathering area and John is right there with him.

Date: 2007-12-03 05:23 pm (UTC)It is very nice when they're them. We get to see little glimpses of it on the show, but there's never enough. It's fics like this that fill that need. :)

Date: 2007-12-03 05:56 pm (UTC)I think I'm addicted to belly kissing. I am shamelessly overusing it. But, in my defense, Rodney-belly is the best thing in the world. So John would totally agree, yes?

Date: 2007-12-03 05:59 pm (UTC)I loved that I totally didn't know if they were together before the story started until John kissed Rodney's belly. (NB: Belly kisses, particularly on Rodney's belly, are possibly the cutest thing in existence.) The idea of Rodney just being on the ground contemplating the differences in gravity cracked me up.
Rodney leans into him. "Oh. This is nice, you know? Me and you. Being us."
Yes Rodney, I agree too, very nice indeed.

Man, I could use a big roasty thing myself right now. ::glares at apple::
