Impulsive Grrrl
Aug. 13th, 2004 12:28 pmI decided, in the middle of a meeting with our PR people this morning, that I couldn't live another minute without a haircut. Because the ends were getting kind of ratty, and I was more bushy than curly, and how could I possibly live like that? So with the trusty Google locator, I found a nearby salon that took walk-ins (not hard to do in The Big City). Soooo, now, after spending some time with "Louis", and spending a little more money than I normal would have, I am now bouncy and curly again. It's actually a little more layered and angled, so there's more body and style to it. Am very happy. I kind of dug Louis, too, he had a very soothing touch. Treated my head like I was a baby bird or something. Very nice.
The sudden need to be fussed over may have something to do with the fact that the hormones are running wild. I spent yesterday with my breasts getting more and more sore as the day went on--yes, it's PMS time again, except that I'm only a little more than halfway through my cycle. Oh good, at least 10 or so days of having two large tender lumps of flesh on my chest, so sensitive that a slight breeze brings pain. And my husband thinks I'm joking when I say "stop looking at them, I can feel it!!!".
By time I leave for vacation next Wednesday I should be in full bitch bloom. But then again, being with my sisters always makes me happy. We will eat and drink and dig our toes into the sand. And yeah, there's the rest of that family visiting stuff, cousins and aunts and uncles, oh my! I will need much gin. Won't think about that right now.
I think I need potato chips.
And tonight! Stargate, Stargate, Stargate!! Hopefully I will get to watch it, rather than taping it. A friend is in town visiting, but we have no hard and fast plans so I will push for going out on Saturday night instead of tonight. Because it's all about me. Pretty me.

Date: 2004-08-13 11:02 am (UTC)Mind you - my hair dresser is a boring middleaged and conversationally challanged female called 'tracy'. ::sighs:: Louis sounds niiiiice. I could really use a nice head massage right now.

Anyway, Louis was quite entertaining, and I was purring by time he got done washing my hair. It is nice to be fussed over.

What is it with men and long hair? Mine is the same way. Maybe they want a handhold? I've done the long bit and it just doesn't work out. My hair is stick straight and not terribly thick, so short just works best.
I told that if he's that attached to long hair, since he's a civilian now, he can grow his own. Heh. As long as it doesn't turn into a comb-over. *shudder*
::stares at Daniel some more::

i'm more wavy too, but the longer it gets the more curly it is, and when they cut it, the curls go too!
I've never liked having my hair cut! but then i can't afford a Louis 8-/ I just get noleen! or veronica 8-/
::sigh::
You know how I love your hair!
Date: 2004-08-13 07:56 pm (UTC)DH likes my hair short, which is lucky because I don't have the patience to grow it long. He's the only guy I ever dated who preferred short hair to long. Also, and perhaps this is Too Much Information, DH prefers me to not shave under my arms. But I do because--itchy. And because of the whole teaching aerobics thing: it grosses out the students, and I hate wearing tops with sleeves.
Because it's all about me. Pretty me.
Well, duh! Yes, it is! *g* Now, complete the prettiness: do your toenails. Let me know if you need help. I'll be right over.

Date: 2004-08-13 09:26 pm (UTC)I can TMI you one better, my husband hates when I wear anti-perspirant/deodorant. Which I wear anyway, because without, it's itchy and unpleasant. And you know, stinky.
BTW, I doubt you could ever gross out your aerobics students. *g* Probably can't even see it, you fair-haired person, you.
