Quick thoughts on H50 2.05 Ma'ema'e
My expectations were pretty low for this ep, considering how clumsily the Kono storyline has been handled, so I was surprised to find I really enjoyed the ep. First of all:
KONO! KONO! KONO! You are so awesome. I have missed you! So glad you are back. I figured you were working undercover, to be honest. But I missed you just the same.
Also:
CARGUMENT. OMG so adorable. Really, Steve, with that eye roll. You do that a lot at Danny, don't you?
Speaking of Danny, HI HI HI SO NICE TO SEE YOU ON THE SHOW AGAIN! YOU ARE VERY CUTE. IN A HOT SEXY KIND OF WAY, WITH YOUR BUTTERY YELLOW SHIRT.
Lori, I'm not sure what to make of you, and the writers don't seem too sure either, but I'm trying to like you. The comment about Steve's daddy-issues certainly helped. You're kind of dork, aren't you?
Chin, your face is awesome.
Danny, so is your face, especially when they were cuffing Kono and bringing her in. You looked so utterly miserable.
Okay, so Steve, you're pretty sexy when you're freaked out and yelling, but that was a bit over the top, no? Still, I loved it when you punched the IA guy at the end. And I loved it when he called you out on your crazy crap earlier.
NO JOE WHITE. That's a plus for me at this point.
The ending with the slo mo was a bit goofy, but hey, I liked it. TEAM.
I'm sure there's more I want to say, but I'm ready to crash.
Yay team!

Lori - I don't even know. The one time she shows personality and it gets splattered all over awkward. Just... no.
CARGUMENT and DANNY WILL END UP AT STEVE'S BECAUSE HE HAS NO HOME. It will be epic fic fodder.

I don't know what is up with the writing for Lori. I really do want to like her but she's not really working for me. Hopefully she'll grow on me.
YES, DANNY AT STEVE'S PLACE, I CAN'T WAIT.

I am LA-LA-LA-LA-LA not thinking too hard about the previous episodes and the Kono storyline prior to tonight. I am happy that we had TEAM tonight, finally, finally, oh finally.
Danny's sad face when he had to bring Kono in just broke my heart.
Loved that Steve punched the IA guy. TOTALLY saw that comin'. *g*
The best part... well, okay, the *BEST* part was TEAMTEAMTEAMTEAM. (And yeah, the power walk was goofy, but I fall for it every. time.) And the next best part was the cargument, if for no other reason than because it was STEVE AND DANNY in the same space for a change, holy God.
But after that? The BEST PART? Was NO JOE WHITE. This episode really drove home to me that except for that plot thing that I am LA-LA-LA-LA-LA not thinking about, Joe White is what has pissed me off about this season. He needs to go back to where he came from. Disappear, Joe.

I'm ready to handwave away some of the stuff in the previous eps and move on. I'm good with the handwaving.
SO GLAD THERE WAS NO JOE WHITE. His scenes with Steve just fall kind of flat--there's nothing dynamic, no conflict like with Danny. He's not really bringing anything to the table, you know? And I like the actor a lot.

It was so much more of a team feel than the previous eps. And as much as I LOVE Terry O'Quinn, I'm with you on the Joe White thing. He's a bit too much like Mike Franks on NCIS. You know when he shows up that the whole team dynamic is going to be off.
I wanted to rip that yellow shirt off of Danny. In a very good way. Not because it was ugly or anything. You know, just to rip.

It's weird how much Joe White isn't working on the show. I'll take Lori over him. He really does change the dynamic of the show, and in a bad way. I liked the character in the season premiere, but then there was way too much of him and not enough Danny. Although I always feel there's not enough Danny, so maybe I'm not the best judge of things like that.
Also, agreed on the yellow shirt. ::goes to happy place::

I still wanted to smack Steve for going off on Chin when he never even bothered to check on her for like 3 eps because he was too busy hanging out with Joe. *grumble* But anyway - TEAM!
Chin saved that entire badly written Lori scene. The writers are killing me with awkward!Lori. Or it's the actress, my vote is still out but she keeps yanking me out of the flow.
I loved it when Steve punched Fryer. LOL
The slo-mo walk off was sort of a gift to us. TEAM!

Chin was so awesome in that scene with Lori. She's worth keeping if she can make Chin make those faces all the time. :D
I'm starting to think the actress was miscast in the role, but then again, it's not like she's been given a whole lot to work with. I dunno. Hopefully she'll grow into it?

I also loved Steve hitting the IA guy. And Danny - he just rocked last night.
Plus, as I saw in my tweet at the end of the show, McGarrett rocks a thigh holster almost as well as John Sheppard!

Also, I can work with "you're like Steve" given the whole opposites attract thing.

Lori does seem to be competent in the action scenes, which is pretty much all she's getting to do, along with being the exposition fairy. So maybe I just need to give her a chance.

I can see that others have the same take on the cargument-- it's a setup for Danny needing a place to stay. :D ::rubs hands in glee:: That could be fun.
It's so nice to have the
bandteam back together! I hope Lori starts fitting a little better. She's still pretty stiff.Still, they're all very pretty, walking down the street in slo-mo.

And yes, they are all indeed VERY pretty! :D
