Quick thoughts on H50 2.05 Ma'ema'e

My expectations were pretty low for this ep, considering how clumsily the Kono storyline has been handled, so I was surprised to find I really enjoyed the ep. First of all:

KONO! KONO! KONO! You are so awesome. I have missed you! So glad you are back. I figured you were working undercover, to be honest. But I missed you just the same.

Also:

CARGUMENT. OMG so adorable. Really, Steve, with that eye roll. You do that a lot at Danny, don't you?

Speaking of Danny, HI HI HI SO NICE TO SEE YOU ON THE SHOW AGAIN! YOU ARE VERY CUTE. IN A HOT SEXY KIND OF WAY, WITH YOUR BUTTERY YELLOW SHIRT.

Lori, I'm not sure what to make of you, and the writers don't seem too sure either, but I'm trying to like you. The comment about Steve's daddy-issues certainly helped. You're kind of dork, aren't you?

Chin, your face is awesome.

Danny, so is your face, especially when they were cuffing Kono and bringing her in. You looked so utterly miserable.

Okay, so Steve, you're pretty sexy when you're freaked out and yelling, but that was a bit over the top, no? Still, I loved it when you punched the IA guy at the end. And I loved it when he called you out on your crazy crap earlier.

NO JOE WHITE. That's a plus for me at this point.

The ending with the slo mo was a bit goofy, but hey, I liked it. TEAM.

I'm sure there's more I want to say, but I'm ready to crash.

Yay team!

I kind of liked Jenna because she was slighty geeky and a non-traditionally beautiful woman. In other words, not a Hot Beautiful Blonde. To have her replaced by one bugged me, especially since they not only had her exit, but to exit in the way she did was salt in the wound.

I recall hearing the actress saying something like she had no romantic chemistry with Alex and/or that she didn't want to be the love interest. That's very unusual, because many actresses feel that being the love interest is the only way they'll ever get any screen time, because honestly, that's often true.

I could picture her as doing administrative or analyst work for the team, but she doesn't work for me as being in the field. She's just very awkward about it, and I hope they don't attempt to do a love interest thing, because she's right, there's zero chemistry. I didn't think it would be possible with Alex, but I guess there's always an exception.

I did not get what the "female version of Steve" comment was supposed to mean. About the only similarities I see so far is they're impatient and they both thought they were going to be in charge, but the new Governor took that out of play for both in one action.

If the writers and the casting department really want her to come across as so awkward, they should be aware I have some serious issues with Fremdschämen. If Chin hadn't been making amusing faces and I had my focus on him, I might have blipped over to another channel to avoid the awkward moment.

I agree, I liked Jenna because she didn't look like a model. She looked like a real person, very pretty but not Hollywood Starlet pretty. And she was a bit of a dork.

And I remember hearing the actress talking about that, how she didn't want to be the love interest, which, hey, good for her. And of course Lenkov is saying she's not being written as one, which makes me wonder if he's read any of the scripts so far.
