I loved how Daniel was describing the whiskey, that was really about describing Jack.
I love that they're still teasing and playful and loving, even with all the strain and stress of their job.
I love that Daniel is the center of Jack's moral universe, that whenever Daniel thinks something is worth fighting, then that means it's right in Jack's mind.
I love that Jack thinks loving Daniel is his weakness, while Daniel thinks loving Jack is his strength - and this makes Jack rethink everything.
And the thing that makes it maybe more bitter than sweet is that I'm none too sure Jack wasn't right in the first place given Endgame...
Overall, not only is it a fascinating glimpse into their minds, but it's a bit of meta-text on what some fans are wondering as well. All done with your great descriptions (one can almost taste the whiskey), and how you usually have multiple layers to each detail within the story, which has become a signature story device that I associate with you, and which I'm an constantly impressed with.
