this 'n that
Jun. 24th, 2005 09:02 amI've had a few SGA and SG-1 fics nominated for the Stargate Fan Awards, and I'd like to formally thank, with big wet kisses, the kind folk who nominated them. No really--get over here and let me kiss you.
Hey! Wait, get back here!!! ::chases::
Seriously, I'm all kinds of touched and tickled. There are so many excellent writers out there, the kinds who use words in all sorts of pretty ways and who are probably actually *friends* with words. Whereas I view words as a necessary evil to get the story told, to get it from my brain to someone else's, and owie, it hurts!
Why yes, I do have a mostly blank document open in my Word window right now, how could you tell?
Anyway--thank you, I'm enormously flattered.
In other news, I was checking out the stats on my website, and I noticed that in the Referrer Report for "We All Arrive by Different Streets", someone had found my page using the search term "Teyla naked". Buh? I'm suspecting they didn't found the story they thought they were going to find. I can only imagine the horror. On the other hand, the search terms "mckay stargate atlantis sex god" were used to google up my fic "Yes, Yes, a Thousand Time Yes". Hee! That amuses me to no end. I think they found what they were looking for. Rodney McKay is most definitely a sex god. ::nods::
Is it time for Season 2 yet?

I'm such a fangirler that I'm wondering what the new opening credits are going to look like. Is that sad, or what?

Date: 2005-06-24 02:46 pm (UTC)B) He is a silly sex god, which, I think, is the best kind.

Date: 2005-06-24 02:48 pm (UTC)But then I'm biased. (And appy have terrible taste in fic. Go me!) Which is no reflection on YOU at all.
I love the referral reports. Sometimes I can't figure out how they got sent to me from what they searched on. And the sites people come to you from can be enlightening as well. Scary as hell sometimes, but still... informative.
Just don't search google only on the words "sex god". That IS scary...

Date: 2005-06-24 03:44 pm (UTC)And we like what we like in fic, unapologetically. Everyone likes different things. Different strokes and all that, there's no right or wrong.
Referral reports crack me up. And nope, I'm not going to google "sex god", nope no way...::opens new mozilla window::

Date: 2005-06-24 04:41 pm (UTC)Sheppard enthusiastically agrees to that :)
And judging by my icon, I need not say another word *g*

Date: 2005-06-24 04:43 pm (UTC)(seeing "McKay", "sex" and "god" in the same sentence made me forget what I wanted to actually write :P)

Date: 2005-06-24 04:49 pm (UTC)And I realized after I read it that my "bad taste in fic" snarkasm could possibly be mis-interpreted to mean that YOU in any way shape or form write other than fabulous fic. SO not what I meant. ::open mouth, insert shoe store::
And now I'll stop before I need to open up a franchise hat store to the south... ;)
And you know, they could just follow McKay/Hewlett around with a camera and I'd probably be dead (squeeicide?) and happy. Hee.
::circles 5 August on the calendar again::

Date: 2005-06-24 05:42 pm (UTC)Squeeicide. I like that. Definitely DH-inspired.

Date: 2005-06-24 06:03 pm (UTC)I'm so stoked about the new season! And I've even decided to take Friday the 8th off to watch the marathon because I stupidly taped over the episodes from 38 Minutes to The Eye. ::headdesk::

Date: 2005-06-24 09:51 pm (UTC)And you definitely need to rewatch all those eps. ::nods:: It should be a national holiday, I think.
Although I'm not sure I can handle the angst of "Siege I" & "II" over again. I may need lots of beer. Damn woobie Rodney.
