Team! Wraith! Todd! Lorne being cute! Teyla kicking Wraith-Queen ass! Things going explodey! John getting hugged AGAIN and making the HugFace!!

Aw. I loved this ep. In so many ways. BTW, Teyla? If you want a real hug, try Rodney. I just know he'd give a big squishy-type hug, and then get all worried that he hurt the baby. It would be really sweet. Honest.

Things that I especially loved:

1. John and Teyla working it out. Awkwardly. No magical reset button on the situation. They're both disgruntled. And John is a big dope. For all the times we get told (by Rodney himself, no less) that Rodney's "not good with people", John's actually pretty damn awful.

2. Again, Teyla kicking Wraith Queen ass. She should have made her kneel. I'm just sayin'. Also, flying the ship was cool. Special pregnancy powers. I'm digging that.

3. Team Sheppard NOT walking into a trap. As soon as they found the transmitter, I had a really bad feeling about all of it. But nope, I was wrong, Todd actually wanted them to come find him. Cool!

4. Okay, I got distracted by a husband wandering through the apartment--how did the ZPMs figure in to making more wraith? What was the deal with that? Thank you kimberlyfdr! Clones, they were using it to make clones. And yay for icky slimy wraith-making tentacle pod-like thingies!

5. Locker room canon! There was a locker room scene! Where's the corner where John and Rodney made out for the first time? Plus, Ronon dragging Rodney out of there--hee! I love it. Ronon, please manhandle Rodney in every ep, thank you very much.

6. "You told me you got lost in a hedge maze." Or garden maze. Or whatever. Obviously John and Rodney spend many hours talking to each other, telling each other their darkest secrets, deep into the night. While doing each other's hair.

7. Rodney's adorable, whimpery "I got stunned" as he woke up in the wraith cell.

8. Lorne! He's such a good guy. He's going to knit booties.

9. Just...everything. ::loves::

4. ZPMs power the system in order to spread the Queen's DNA and make the clones (since it's a clone-making facility)

Also, John named Todd after his old college boyfriend. I love him ALOT for that.

Lorne and Teyla are always made of win. They've always been my secret het pair in SGA.

Well, if her baby daddy has Wraith DNA like Teyla does, then both halves of the baby's zygotes would have Wraith DNA. (And OMG, I was so sure they were walking into a trap. These are, after all, the same guys who just *opened up the big jumper door* inside a *WRAITH Hive ship* (they could have at least hid behind Todd!)

I loved this ep. First time that's happened all season. Teyla kicked ass, everyone else was just... they were all themselves. And there was good character interaction. And the team didn't do anything willfully stupid just to make the plot work.

And #8? Gah. My not-so-seekrit love for Teyla/Lorne totally gets justified and Kavan is the cutest thing ever, being all supportive/concerned/leaderly. *squishes Lorne*

Yes, no plot machinations of the stupid kind! I liked that. Everyone was smart. And brave. And really cute. Plus John with the really bad at emotions thing.

I think Teyla/Lorne would be a great thing. It would have been fun if the show went there. We've gotten a lot of Lorne this season. Yay!

I think it's the post-coital pillow talk. *g* Rodney with his nose tucked against John's shoulder, and John chuckling long and low when Rodney tells him things like that. Then Rodney slaps John's chest and says 'it wasn't funny' and John laughs even harder and Rodney's grinning and snuggling closer.

I loved how Ronon tried to volunteer so they wouldn't take Rodney first -- AGAIN! And that the queen somehow knew Rodney was the chink in JOhn's armor. I don't know, it left me unsastified. Not enough Rodney with John. I know, we needed the talking with Teyla, I suppose, but THREE whole scenes alone? No other team members? *pout* I actually didn't like Ronon's drag of Rodney. He's doing that too much. I'd rather John did a little bit of Rodney dragging, but I guess I'm just wanting a bit more since he first did that grab the vest one. *sigh* Not a bad episode.. but I'm not finding the squee. Yea, Lorne was good, but we're getting everyone EXCEPT Rodney's reaction. He could have said something to her here!

I was pleased that they took their time with the John and Teyla situation. It was a complex issue that couldn't be solved in one quick scene. But yeah, it would have been nice to get Rodney's thoughts on the issue. He needs to have a scene with Teyla! Because he would be really sweet about it. I just know it.

I swear, it's like a strip tease, even if he is dressing rather than undressing. But he does take off his belt and holster, which, you know, works for me. (Not that I'm taking notes, but he got them off *really* quickly and easily. ::g::)

I think what I like about the whole gearing up part (not that I've thought about this way too much or anything) is how unconscious and automatic it is -- John's not paying attention to what he's doing, because he does this for every mission and he doesn't need to think about it, and that's all competent and heroic and nnnnngrh.

*cough* Um, yeah, so I kind of liked that scene.

I love that John knows all of these things about Rodney. They clearly spend a lot of time together.

John totally has a hug face.

"So did you and Teyla make up?" Rodney asked.

"Yeah. She hugged me. There were tears."

"Hers or yours."

"Hers," John answered with a only a hint of stiffness.

"You've got to get over this weird hug thing."

"I do not have a weird hug thing."

"Do so."

"Do not."

"Prove it," Rodney said, spreading his arms. "Hug me."

John scrunched up his face. "No."

"Weird hug thing," Rodney said, his expression turning smug.

Looking annoyed, John took two steps forward and reached for Rodney. Rodney immediately settled his arms around John's waist, but unlike Teyla he wasn't short enough to rest his head against the front of John's shoulder, which meant that his face was disturbingly close to John's. So John closed his eyes, and tried to settle his arms more comfortably around Rodney's shoulders.

Not only does John know these things about Rodney, he remembers them. And teases Rodney about them. While on a mission. With guns and wraith and scary stuff going on and he SO can't resist playing with Rodney, just a little.

"See?" John said. He so did not have a weird hug thing.

"Nice." Rodney patted John's back. "For someone about to get a root canal. Could you be any more tense?"

"I'm not tense," John insisted, trying to figure out where to put his hands. One kept trying to rest on the back of Rodney's neck but he was pretty sure that guys shouldn't fondle bare skin when they hugged.

"Come on," Rodney said. "It's not so hard. Clear blue skies and ferris wheels and all that."

John opened one eye to glare Rodney, whose face was still disconcertingly close. "Are we done yet?"

Rodney sighed contentedly and tightened his hold around John's waist. "I am so much better at this than you," he sing-songed.

Leave it to Rodney to turn a hug into a competition. Well never let it be said that John Sheppard couldn't meet a challenge.

Turning his head, he rested it on Rodney's shoulder. Pulling in a breath, he tried to relax the way Teyla had taught when he'd first picked up the sticks.

It worked--a little-- and his chest rested more comfortably against Rodney's. Feeling pleased with himself John slid his hand slowly down the center of Rodney's back.

Rodney shifted his weight, leaning into John's arms. His knee bumped John's, and John instinctively stepped his legs apart, pulling Rodney in closer.

Oh yeah. He had this hug thing down.

He lifted his head to tell Rodney that, just as Rodney turned his and whoa, a little too close. Their cheeks touched, and for a brief second Rodney's breath was warm on his skin.

Rodney let go, so suddenly that John had to grab Rodney's arm to keep from falling forward. "Okay," Rodney said, color high on his cheekbones. "Um, good. That was good. I take it back, with the hugging and all, I think you have it down."

John curled his fingers over Rodney's bicep.

Rodney's really strong bicep. Maybe Rodney was right. Maybe John did have a hug thing, because he was feeling weirdly light-headed. "I--"

He never finished the sentence because Rodney took that moment to look right at him, blue eyes meeting his. Rodney looked as uncertain as John felt. "You--"

John nodded as if that made perfect sense, his hand still resting on Rodney's bicep, Rodney still close enough that John could feel him like some sort of phantom hug.

Rodney lifted his hands, resting them on John's hips.

He had no idea what the hell he was doing.

"Um," Rodney said in a quiet voice.

Curling his hand around the back of Rodney's neck felt like the most natural thing in the world to do. "Yeah?" John pulled Rodney closer.

Rodney opened his mouth again, but no words came out. Instead his hands tightened on John's hips. John moved closer, too.

Only this time he didn't close his eyes or turn his head to the side, he just kept looking as Rodney closed his mouth and tilted his head slightly to the side.

John knew what that meant. But the part of him which should have been screaming in protest was oddly silent. His eyes still locked on Rodney's, John tilted his head to the side, too.

And leaned.

"Rodney."

"Okay okay okay. I just--okay." His fingers twitched, digging into John's hips. "Okay."

John stroked the side of Rodney's neck with his thumb and Rodney leaned into it, eyes fluttering shut. "Rodney," he said again, only it meant something altogether different this time.

He waited until Rodney opened his eyes, then kissed him, softly.

He drew back to find Rodney staring at him, wide-eyed and amazed. John's a little amazed himself.

Maybe more than a little.

"We--" Rodney said.

John nodded. "Yeah."

"Oh, wow."

John nodded again, because wow was absolutely the right word.

"I didn't expect--wow." Rodney was frowning now.

John shrugged. "Me neither."

Rodney pulled away. "I never--I need to think about this." He sat on John's bed, hands clasped, still looking dazed.

John carefully sat beside him. "Don't hurt yourself, Dr. Hug."

Rodney waved a hand in his 'I'm thinking, don't interrupt' manner. "Huh," he said after a moment.

"Done thinking?"

A curt nod. "Yes."

A quick movement and John was on his back with an enthusiastic Rodney stretched out on top of him. John decided that horizontal hugging was even better than vertical, especially when Rodney was involved and soon they were investigating all sorts of hugging, some of them quite satisfying.

#6. I totally thought of that as well. Rodney was 10. I love that they tell one another stories, as we learned last week when Rodney was talking to Todd (and we knew it already) that Rodney likes to talk about himself, however, John listens. *squee*

Teyla was made of so, so much awesome. And the end! Gah, so perfect.

I thought it was going to be a trap as well. I figured the whole ZPM "plan" thing was heading that way. Todd just wanted to build himself an army.

I was curious about one thing though. The queen wanted them to bring her Todd so she could feed. I didn't think they could feed off each other.

Now we have to wait and see if Teyla's baby is a carnivorous serial killer?

Hmmmm...I thought they could, from "The Defiant One". The last wraith standing was the one who survived by feeding on all the other wraith.

And I was wondering if they were actually implying that Teyla's baby was damaged in some way. That would be a pretty damn grim storyline wouldn't it? Eeep!
