Firefox just snuck in an update to version 3.05, which pisses me off to no end. My livejournal doesn't scroll properly now--it's all jerky and jumpy and headache-inducing. The same thing happened when I first tried FF3.0 (back when it first came out) and from what I could glean from on-line discussions, it has something to do with CSS and having a fixed background. I really don't want to change my layout. And getting rid of FF 3.0 and going back to 2.whatever was extremely painful the last time. Does anybody out there know how to get around this issue? Maybe how to fix it without making major changes to my layout? I haven't checked to see if the jumpy scrolling happens on my much newer computer at work, so maybe it's an artifact of my older processor?
Gah, Firefox, I never expected this from YOU!

Date: 2009-01-20 02:30 am (UTC)I'm trying out Google Chrome, and so far I'm liking it, but I'll probably end up missing my add ons too much to use it exclusively. Good luck, I hope you've made some progress in 'downgrading'!

Date: 2009-01-20 03:14 am (UTC)There's a reason I've refused to update to FF3 yet.
Though I'm thinking of downloading Google Chrome and seeing how that works.

Date: 2009-02-09 06:44 pm (UTC)Now that I think about it, my computer is probably more than a few years old--I bought it used in 2006. I do have plans for a new one later this year!
