Happy Thing, Day 1

It's a happy thing that happens every day when I come home from work: a lovefest with the kitty. I walk in the door, she scampers down the hallway , sprawls on the Love Mat (a small throw rug by our back door) and demands LOVE. I pet her up, scratch shoulders, rub her butt; she rolls over and waves her paws and acts generally ridiculous. There's cooing and air-kneading and cat hairs up my nose and rolling over and more purring and cooing and lots of shedding. This will go on for as long as I pet her. Eventually I need to put my stuff down and take my coat off, so then she runs up to the food bowl and coos at me some more as I point out to her that it's only four o'clock and no, that's not when kitties get to eat.

Then scampering up and down our long hallway commences.

It's a great way to end the workday.

Oh, absolutely. She certainly seems to think so, too--if I'm too slow in getting to the petting, she lies on top my feet. Almost fell on my ass the other day. *g*

It really does help me get through a crappy workday though. Sweet kitties are the best!

I actually never really do. So he's learned that if something odd happens and I laugh, then everything is ok. As for the icon....er, I did sort of catch him in the beginning of a yawn. So the normal stare is like that only less yawny. But he sits and stares and stares with that goofy alien look all the time.
