SGA 110 - The Storm

I rewatched "The Storm" last night as I couldn't sleep and needed some pretty. Oh yes, John and Rodney brought the pretty. Along with some of my favorite exchanges:

WEIR: The city can handle that?
McKAY: Yes – theoretically.
SHEPPARD: Like dinosaurs turned into birds theoretically, or theory of relativity theoretically?
McKAY: What?! Uh, sort of between.

John is SO flirting with Rodney.

Regarding the grounding stations:
SHEPPARD: And mine?
McKAY: Uh, it’s a brisk walk away.
SHEPPARD: And by ‘brisk’, you mean ... ‘far’.
McKAY: By ‘walk’, I mean ‘run’.

So. Cute.

Also, I had forgotten how damn GOOFY John is in the beginning of this ep. Plus, we still had full-on snark!Rodney, which will never not be hot.

Jeeze, John, why don't you just flutter your eyelashes at him?


They're SO obvious.


Rodney suggests a private little rendezvous.


Rodney, are you coming on to me?


Uh, maybe?


And then John gets a look at Rodney's 'assets'. Such a size queen. He'll agree to anything Rodney wants.

Ahem. Sorry, my imagination ran away from me. Back to the ep, closing in on the cliffhanger:


Where John is all pretty and angsty,


Rodney is hot like a hot hot thing,


John is pretty and angsty from yet another angle,


Rodney joins in with the pretty and angsty,


And then John is peeved and windblown and pretty and angsty.

The Storm/Eye, The Defiant One and The Tao of Rodney are still my top three favorite episodes. They're all just so *comfortable* with each other in The Storm! And Elizabeth's little shrug when Rodney mentions her knee! It's so adorable!

Plus, John's obsession with getting Rodney off-balance never fails to fill me with GLEE!

Yes, whenever I am asked for favorite scenes from SGA, the scene you describe with the exchange about the dinosaurs and the "By walk I mean run" always comes to mind first. That whole scene, and Elizabeth's cute little shrug during it, has always stayed with me. It shows their timing and chemistry at its best.

And remember, Rodney is not Superman. Though, I think John believes it secretly, but he can't let the others know.
