SPN 5.08 Changing Channels

I have to admit this up front: Richard Speight Jr is hot like a hot hot thing. Seriously. This guy pushes all my buttons. He's talented, funny, and awfully cute with the dimples and the smirking. So I knew I was going to love this ep, and I did. The Gabriel reveal still has me bubbling over with joy. (And the continuity with "Mystery Spot". Awesome stuff!

Favorite bits:

The title sequence. That will never not be funny. I giggled like a loon during it. The tandem bike! Bumping into each other in the dark! You just know they had a ball filming it.

Dean being all into "Dr. Sexy". The show, and the guy. All starstruck. And knowing that Dr. Sexy wears cowboy boots. Oh, Dean, you are such a fangirl. Somebody has a little mancrush, hmmm?

Sam's scrunchy little face of WTF when they're in the hospital. Aw!

Sunglasses at night. ::snorts:: Very well done.

Castiel trying to save the day. Just seeing him on the set of that ridiculous japanese game show is hilarious. And yet, hot. It's the way he walks in that trench coat. I could watch an entire ep that consisted of him striding purposely toward the camera with in that coat.

Sam as Kitt. Again - awesome. Dean, what exactly were you doing in his trunk?

Dean being all worried about Castiel made my heart go all squishy. Oh, Dean.

I loved them capturing Gabriel. Loved Gabriel just wanting to get the apocalypse over and done with. I love that he ran away rather than deal with the squabbling. I loved how human he sounded. And I loved Dean's refusal to accept his "destiny", and his parting words to Gabriel. It was all so fabulous and I'm full of flail and love and I need to watch a few thousand more times!

I thought the title sequence was adorable also - so CUUUUUUTE. And ditto on the giggling like a loon. My son and I love the Trickster episodes, and looking back at Mystery Spot, you can see his "getting Sam ready" motivation in an entirely new light.

Yes, he is adorable and funny. Definitely one of my favorite of the recurring characters.

Could Dean have BEEN more GAY than when he was panting over Dr. Sexy?

And Sam in the herpes commercial!!! Oh. My. God. Then getting caught by the Japanese nut cracker - major Sam humbling going on here!

I can't wait to get home from work and watch it with my fellow trickster fan (my little boy).

Oh yes, the commercial! I missed it the first time around, skipped right past it on the DVR. Silly me. I finally caught it this morning. Loved Sam's grumpy little face during it. So. Cute.

How sweet that your little boy loves the trickster too! Aw!

Seeing Dean so sure of himself and full of conviction was wonderful. After everything he's been through, it feels like a victory!

It was all fun. Castiel all bloody and determined and glaring? That's never anything but hot.

I've re-watched a time or two (I can't help myself) so that I could see the commercial I had missed the first time through and see Sam as Kitt again. I loved the Knight Rider stuff and I giggle each time I see it. "Should I honk," leaves me silly.

And I'm with you on all points about Gabriel. Plus, he clearly isn't all bad and smitey like Raphael was since Castiel survived his ordeal. Maybe he'll help the boys in the end.

Richard Speight Jr. has lovely eyes. Not as um, nice as Jensen's and Misha's, but still? yeah. nice.

Richard Speight Jr oozes charisma. I love 'Trickster' episodes, funny or not.

This episode is now in my top five. There's no way it will ever stop being hilarious.
