Supernatural Finale
May. 13th, 2010 09:30 pmThat was epic. In a big epic kind of way. I'm still in a daze from it all. Current thoughts:
- I may have squealed when they started the ep with the impala bit. It was just...perfect!
- Sam, you rock my world.
- Dean, you do too, honey.
- Chuck is god? ::dies::
- I loved that the rings thing failed the first time.
- CAS. AWESOME AWESOME CAS. I HAVE NO WORDS.
- Oh, wait, yes I do. I was devastated when he was killed, but then Bobby was killed and I knew they'd both come back. But I didn't expect full-on Angel Cas. Pleaseohplease come back next season!
- The Lisa thing was the only sour note. I just think there are better ways to represent Dean having a normal life.
- And the impala of brotherly love was the most awesomest of the awesome. That montage made me sniffly.
- Sammy, you're back!
My brain is all a-jumble and I need to watch a couple more times just to sort everything out.
::flails some more::

Date: 2010-05-14 02:46 am (UTC)When Cas went boom, it was so ridiculous I felt immediately like he was going to be back. And then they killed Bobby, and I was pretty damn sure. That was probably the only moment in the episode where I wasn't crying like a crazy person. (I am probably far too jaded to watch TV, but oh well.)
The Lisa thing was the only sour note. You know, Lisa doesn't feel right to me, because mostly I think that he had a better connection with several different girls throughout the series. But she was the one with a kid that he thought was his for a while, and I think that's where the connection comes from more than anything else. He needs a family, and there one was. It's still not healthy, and I think that's probably important for whatever comes next. Because there's no way that relationship is going to work when the only thing Dean wants is to die or to get Sam back. I'm sure Dean will keep trying, no matter what, but what's that going to be like for Lisa?
Wow. Sorry for blathering on. Wasn't Cas awesome with his holy Molotov cocktail?

Yes! I can't see him trying to pretend he can live a normal life, although it might be interesting to see him try. For like, maybe one episode. Then go back to the Dean we know.
Cas was SO awesome with his holy Molotov cocktail. And whatever silly thing he yelled (now I can't remember!). It was adorable.

Date: 2010-05-14 03:11 am (UTC)Though I had some problems with the episode, I still liked it overall and I loved the montage. That would have been a perfect nod to the Brothers Winchester and end the series.

Date: 2010-05-14 03:13 am (UTC)I loved everything about that. The fact that Chuck was writing/narrating, the Impala, the Impala being THE MOST IMPORTANT OBJECT IN THE UNIVERSE.
Chuck is god? ::dies::
SO GOOD. SO GOOD.
Though I'm going to need to see all of his episodes and apply this new theory.
Pleaseohplease come back next season!
You have no idea how much I want this.
That montage made me sniffly.
I was crying openly through pretty much the whole thing, but mostly that.
Sammy, you're back!
You're kinda left wondering if that's Sam or Lucifer, but if Chuck IS God, then you KNOW that's Sam. Which is just. *Flails.*

Date: 2010-05-14 03:22 am (UTC)I loved Chuck's narration. That was a nice touch.
Impala FTW!!

Why yes, I live in my own little world. *g*

Date: 2010-05-14 07:58 pm (UTC)He doesn't need to be part of S6, but a mention that Adam returned to school or w/e would be nice. The poor kid gets eaten by ghouls, dicked around by angels, and THEN sealed in with Lucifer. D:

Date: 2010-05-14 04:17 am (UTC)I think that scene alone (and STULL ZOMG) is why, if the whole Chuck/God/Kripke thing is really Kripke playing at god through Chuck, then I'll buy. I feel the adoration already.

Date: 2010-05-14 12:50 pm (UTC)And I love Chuck. The Chuck/God/Kripke thing works for me, too!

Date: 2010-05-14 06:37 am (UTC)It also appears that Cas is more of an angel than he was at the start. Don't know if he's been 'new and improved' into an archangel but I was just happy not to have him dead.
And Gabriel *will* return, I say, happy on my beach towel, toes in the water.

Date: 2010-05-14 12:52 pm (UTC)Chuck is wearing white in that last scene. Hmmm. I'm good with the gotcha moment. And yes, fanfic is heavenly sanctioned, so we all need to get to work. *g*

Date: 2010-05-14 08:46 am (UTC)He's the biggest Mary Sue on the planet, and Kripke created SPN, so yeah, Kripke=God in this universe-- TOO PERFECT!
Although, I really didn't see it coming-- I thought it would be Missouri. *g*
The whole Lisa/Dean thing reeks of Sam/Jess, doesn't it? I've always felt that Dean stopped by Stanford to check on Sam, looking in from the outside to make sure he was okay. Now Sam is looking in to make sure Dean is okay. I just hope that Lisa doesn't end up on the ceiling in flames.
CHUCK IS GOD! ::flails::
The Impala is home! And the most important object in the universe! ::hearts::
Cas is badass!Angel again! Bobby lives! Sam is out of the cage! I DON'T EVEN KNOW!!!!!!11!!!!!!!11!!!!! ::flails!!

Date: 2010-05-14 12:54 pm (UTC)And yeah, the ending is making my brain all crazy, I don't buy for one minute that Dean can be happy living the suburban Dad life with Lisa and Ben, and Sam had better not walk away from there and leave Dean thinking he's still in hell, damn it!
And bad!ass angel Cas had better come back for a visit, or I will be all sulky and whiny next season.

Date: 2010-05-14 11:18 am (UTC)(I don't think Chuck has always been God because the first time the boys met him Dean was wearing the god-tracking amulet and it didn't heat up or whatever)
I am SO with you on Lisa. I hope it doen't continue over into s6 because I really don't see it working. They have no real connection, and Dean is too punch drunk to be thinking straight anyway at the moment.
no subject
Date: 2010-05-14 12:56 pm (UTC)And the amulet, what is with that? I hate that they dropped that storyline completely. I don't mind the ambiguity about Chuck always being god, but I want them to revisit the amulet thing.

Date: 2010-05-14 11:20 pm (UTC)Sam was incredibly brave!
The Lisa thing was the only sour note. I just think there are better ways to represent Dean having a normal life.
YES and yes and yes. First off, what's 'normal'? Is it a white picket fence and a nuclear family? Or is it the not-hunting of demons? Because if it's the latter then, yes, there have to different ways to represent normal. And how come they all assume normal equals happy? Maybe this is a severe case of 'the grass is greener on the other side'.
I'm very sure Cas will be back next season. Anything else would be a waste!!

Date: 2010-05-15 07:40 pm (UTC)I think so. Plus, I can't see Dean just giving up hunting when he knows there are people out there that he can save. That's what has always driven him in the past. I can see him needing a break from it, but in the end, I think it will call him back.
As for Cas, it seems like they left it open for him to come back, it certainly didn't sound like a final goodbye. And he didn't seem all that keen on going back to heaven. I say he'll return sooner rather than later. He'll miss Dean far too much to keep away. *g*

Date: 2010-05-15 11:28 pm (UTC)Good point! I only hope it won't be the other way around and his old life catches up with him first. I think he needs a little time to breathe and put himself back together again. He's only human after all.
He'll miss Dean far too much to keep away.
Yes, please! :)
