thegrrrl2002Okay, so tonight we learned that Chin is heartbreakingly awesome, and that Danny loves Steve. WITH A GREAT BIG AIR HEART.
No, really, a heart. Drawn in the air.
Honestly, I'm still at a loss for words over it. I keep watching it thinking some words will come to me, but no, not yet.
Oh, and Steve never goes hiking without duck tape, which actually kind of makes sense to me, considering how remote the area looked. I just wanted to know where all their water was. And the snacks. Also, Steve and Danny should climb around on rocks all the time because it does fabulous things for their ass. And for the ass viewing audience. And Danny needs to wear t-shirts and haul things like Steve up on a rope. Because ARMS. Jeeze.
There was a lot of great stuff in this ep--the family stuff with Chin and Kono was wonderfully done. I love how pissed Kono was on Chin's behalf, and I love that Chin took the fall for his uncle. And I loved that we saw fishermen struggling to make a living.
I also loved that Danny wiped his hand on Steve's shirt. It's the little things that thrill me.
And then everyone went out for drinks together and Steve tried to make Danny jealous by flirting with the waitress and apparently he was successful, because Danny threatened to never save Steve's life again and Steve looked ridiculously pleased with himself. And you just know in bed that night, Steve made with the wrinkly forehead and insisted his arm hurt, no really, Danny, it hurts a lot, and Danny ended up do all the work of lovemaking while Steve laid back and enjoyed it. Not that Danny actually believed him (Seriously, Steven, I just saw you take down a suspect) but still, he remembered the rope slipping through his hands (he has the ropeburn to show for it) and well, you know.
And in conclusion, Danny loves Steve.

Okay, here's what caught my eye that I haven't seen anyone mention yet and starting to wonder if I imagined it. Except I'm not! I know I'm not! I can't be!
In all the adorableness that was the restaurant banter, when Steve is making Danny examine the fish for him and Danny's being all Danny-ish and threatening retaliation and Steve's just standing there loving it because he's Steve and that's what he does when he gets Danny wound up...
Danny says "You're gonna pay for this. 100 percent." And the camera cuts to Steve and he does this very pointed, single, smug, significant blink. *flail*
It's total innuendo!! I've watched it like 10 times and I just can't interpret it any other way.
CLEARLY, that blink is conveying either "Counting on it" or "Oh believe me, I know."
Tell me I'm not imagining that. Tell me!!!!

That's how you say it the first time, Danny? Because of course you love McGarrett the same way you love your 8-year-old daughter. Naturally. Let's just write him a note with pink glitter pens. ARGH!" And the he hits the steering wheel a few times in frustration.

eta The shirt wiping (after all the married couple bantering) was made all the better when Steve and Kono were talking about the sashimi special and Steve just is wearing a goofy grin. Because you know they made out in the car, and Danny couldn't *not* touch Steve (who is still broken but the meds are the good meds and Steve is giving as good as he's getting with the banter and the kissing) and so Steve's all extray fishy smelling.
