Nothing, really.
Nov. 21st, 2004 12:08 pmSo, last night we picked up a bottle of wine and strolled over to the new local Indian restaurant, and it was absolutely marvelous! The chief is from one of our favorite restaurants downtown that had closed, so we knew it would be good. Damn good. I think we have just about every ethnic restaurant that we need within walking distance--Thai to the north, Middle Eastern to the east, Cuban to the south--oh, and Italian, too, but it's a little expensive. And Indian to the west. Along with a fun German restaurant. Am I missing anything? Okay, a sort of good Mexican place a few blocks north, too.
I still say the neighborhood needs a really good Red Sauce Joint. Then I'll never have to cook again. Even though I really do enjoy cooking, more so since I'm not doing labwork anymore. It fills that need.
And now I'm Christmas shopping. At home, in my jammies. Ain't weekends grand?
ETA: And speaking grand, check out

Date: 2004-11-21 08:07 pm (UTC)Allow me to sob inconsolably. We don't even have Mexican here, unless you count Taco Bell, which I don't. Nor do we have Thai or Indian. There's a semi-Italian place that also does Greek, but it's all very low-rent. There are several Chinese places, however, although we've been advised to avoid them upon pain of food poisoning.
But lobster? Yeah, baby. We have that! And scallops, and haddock, and all kinds of variations therein. And there's a microbrewery too.
I envy you your wealth of food choices!
