Okay, I'm restless and bored and having a slow day at work. (Apologies to all who would like to be having a slow day at work). So, post a comment to this post using a SGA or SG1 flavored icon, I will write you a ficlet inspired by said icon.
Or, at least, I will try to. I may get totally stumped. And it may take a day or two.
I suppose I should limit this to the first five or six people who post.
ETA: Eeeep! That was quick! Thank you, I think I have my work cut out for me.

Date: 2005-02-18 09:15 pm (UTC)He nudged the Lieutenant out of the way and threw himself into the appropriate chair before carefully placing his laptop on the table.
No reason at all.
He was a creature of habit, that's all. It had nothing to do with the fact that he could look up at any time and see Sheppard's face. And that that nine times out of ten, Sheppard would be staring straight at him when he did.
Rodney glanced up from the data scrolling across his computer screen.
Make that ninety-nine times out of hundred.
It also didn't help that Rodney knew, no matter what he said, Sheppard was going to respond. It was almost as if Sheppard was waiting for the moment Rodney opened his mouth, the way he would sit there, probably appearing to be completely relaxed to the unpracticed eye, but Rodney knew better. Because the moment Rodney finished, Sheppard would launch into action, agreeing, disagreeing, mocking--whatever--while smirking, raising his eyebrows, or waving his hands. The full-on Sheppard show.
"Rodney, what do you think?" Elizabeth asked. "Is it worth the risk?"
Rodney closed his computer, and took a deep breath.
Sheppard leaned forward, hands clasped, eyes alert.
"Granted, the magnetic disturbances are going to wreak havoc with our communications," Rodney acknowledged. "But if we take two jumpers, and have one maintain orbit while the other is on the surface, we should have no significant interruptions in our contact with Atlantis."
"Exactly." Sheppard nodded, slapping a hand lightly on the tabletop. "We can have Markham take the second jumper, maybe bring Carson along so he can get in a little flight time." He pointed to Rodney. "McKay and I will take the jumper to the surface. Take a look around, McKay can get some readings--who knows what we'll find." He nodded again, giving Elizabeth a 'there-you-have-it' look as he finished.
Contribution complete, Sheppard leaned back in his chair, gazing at Rodney with an almost relaxed sort of satisfaction. A small smile played on his lips, eyes heavy lidded. As if he were content. Sated, almost.
Rodney closed his eyes. He really had to stop thinking those kinds of thoughts. And find another place to sit.
"All right, you have a go," Elizabeth told them. "But if communication fails, I want you to return immediately."
Rodney remained seated as all the others filed out. Almost all the others. "Come on, Rodney," John said, patting his shoulder. "You heard Doctor Weir. We have a go."
Rodney looked up at Sheppard's sunny smile, and wondered just when "having a go" started sounding so dirty, because it didn't sound that way when Elizabeth said it.
But that was a thought for another time, because Sheppard was standing at the doors, waiting for him.
