We finally have a Zelenka community (ETA:started up by the intrepid [livejournal.com profile] scifigirl)! Come and join [livejournal.com profile] welovezelenka and we shall all squee in harmony over our favorite geeky Czech.

In other news, I've discovered that Bedouin dance kicks ass. My ass, specifically. I feel like I've been run over by a truck, and I have three more hours of the workshop tonight. It's incredibly fun and high-spirited and...ouch. Blisters on my feet and I think I pulled a muscle in my ass.

Owie.

I think porny smutty erotic slash would help me to feel better. It really would.

Bwee! I'm not enough of a Zelenka addict to join, but in celebration of teh comm opening: HI RES CAPS.

Ahahaha I love that scene. Feel free to repost in the comm if you like. You can link them on my webspace even. I just didn't want to join just to post them and then leave again.

:)

Czech?

Have you seen Letters from Pegasus yet? I was convinced that was Russian he was speaking.

I thought it was Czech, since the actor was born in Prague. He moved to Canada when he was young, but went back to Prague to perform in the theater group for a while. (fangirl much? Nah.) That scene was also translated by someone, and they said it was czech, so I assumed they knew.

Myself, I wouldn't be able to tell the different. I'm not familiar with either language.

Oh, too funny! The icon was a gift, and I guess I never looked at the lettering too closely. Too distracted by the prettiness.

Hmmm, sounds like something I need to take up. Isn't exercise supposed to make me less cranky, though?

How bad is it that I immediately went to The Bad Place, do not pass go, over his expressions in those caps? :-)

Exercise makes me way less cranky. Aside from the physical benefit, it gets me out of my head for a while, and that's always a good thing.

Go for it!

Thanks for sharing the fabulous caps!

I might wait a while before posting them on the comm, just because they might be conisdered a little spoilerly for "Letters", and I want to start off with posts everyone can look at.

Although, I doubt if they're really spoilerly.

So cute! And clear!!

I dunno, I'm already doing my Nordic Track and that gets me out of my head, but I don't want to come back....

*headdesk* I always forget that the eps haven't aired in North America yet. It's so weird because they usually get all the good stuff first.

I guess it depends on how people define a spoiler. There are people who consider every.little.detail a spoiler, which I personally consider to be a bit drastic, but still respect. If I don't go and post big ass caps in the comments to some else's entry without switching on my brain first. *facepalms*

Hee, I do think he spoke Czech. It was so funny when he said "fail-safe mechanism" in the middle of it because there's no word for it in the Czech language. My dad is Serbian and he does it sometimes. He'll be talking to someone in Serbian and from time to time he's suddenly using a German word. That never fails to crack me up. :D

It's my favorite Zelenka scene, along with the one where... argh, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say it... 'tis a scene from The Siege I.

Oh no, I'm thrilled you posted those gorgeous caps! I don't think they're totally spoilery. And the scene is so fabulous. I giggled through it all, then at the end backed it up and watched it over and over. It was really a stroke of genius.

And I know exactly which bit from Siege I you're talking about. I just want to squeeeeeze him.

"fail-safe mechanism"--yup, that was pretty funny. I shared a lab in grad school with a chinese student, and when he discussed his work in Chinese on the phone all of a sudden I'd hear the word "plasmid" in English, then he'd go back to chinese. It was pretty funny.

Oh, I'm sure it is Czech! I was just surprised. Of course, Czech and Russian sounding very similar wouldn't surprise me.

I haven't seen the ep, so I have no idea what Zelenka's doing in these caps, but damn... I have never been so excited in my entire life . Giant Zelenka heads.

I'm rather amused by the gape-mouthed look. I have so many options for captioning that one. :)

I can imagine. Hey, make a bunch of icons, and post them all to the community. If you are so inclined. *g*

Yay! I do believe that I have you to thank for the explosion of members for the comm. I didn't think about the cap from Letters being spoilery I hope I haven' t made anyone mad. I was just trying to get a pic with a smile. =)

Oh, you know, I really don't think they are spoilery at all. I'm just being paranoid. The pic you used is fabulous! Zelenka at his cutest. Which is saying a lot. *g*

I'm so glad you bravely stepped in and started up the comm. You rock!
