I remember a while back there was a discussion of how many puddlejumpers there might be on Atlantis, since for some reason in "The Brotherhood" someone (Weir?) made it sound like there were only three (at least to me), even though in "The Rising" there seemed to be a lot more docked in the bay.

Well, being the pathetic spoiler whore that I am, I was checking out the Ask Martin Gero thread at theGateWorld Forum and according to him, there were 10-15 of them at the beginning of Season 1. (Martin Gero is one of the show writers).

There are some other interesting tidbits in the thread as well, although it's a bit of a pain to have to read through and find his replies.

Is it time for the new season start yet? It's been soooo long....

I am really glad to have that definitively answered. Because it has bugged me more than it should. *g*

Three months.

::heavy sigh::

I keep saying I'm not going to read any more spoilers, yet I keep going back looking pics and hints that we'll get some good Sheppard/McKay eps. I have no willpower whatsoever.

::is pathetic::

:snuggles:

I want good Sheppard/McKay eps. They totally rock onscreen together. And Zelenka and Weir! And Beckett!

I'm still upset about Ford, though. :sad face:

They keep insisting Ford is going to get a really interesting storyline, and more stuff to do, even though he's not going to be in every ep.

I suppose it's better than being the 'tag-along guy who blows things up'.

Oddly enough, Beckett is the one character who doesn't do anything for me. He's had some nice moments, but I'm pretty 'meh' about him. I'm not sure why.

I like him. I just don't like him like I like everyone else. :g:

I'm going to miss poor Grodin!

Also, you know, maybe they ony had enough pilots for three or four?

this has been bugging me too. I wonder if maybe they figured it's one Wraith dart on its own, so we'll send three ships, instead of trying to get them all in the air?

It's great to have a definite answer to that question and it's pretty much the same when we discussed it in [livejournal.com profile] prime_not_prime. Yay. We are good ;-). Maybe only three or so jumpers actually work.

It's possible, although there wasn't any mention of it.

And yes, we *are* good!

You know, after watching the ep a second (or possibly third) time, I think what they were trying to say was that a third puddle jumper was being launched, but who was it that was flying it? And then when get the reveal of Beckett, who's obviously been drafted by Bates.

Huh. That might explain the nonsense of Beckett going into combat. While Bates is great at city security, he probably didn't look at the big picture when the Wraith attacked.

Though pilot numbers still don't add up, I don't think.

Grr.

Oh, actually, that makes sense now.

And I love that scene between Bates and Beckett, in the jumper. It really worked for me.

I think they have more jumpers than people who can fly them.

I think that's definitely true. They need to keep working on that gene therapy!

How can it not be time yet? I...went to Gateworld and I got spoiled, and I hate spoilers, but I just want more, more, more! (Apparently, I don't hate spoilers too much since I went and clicked on it and all, but still, it was either that or chocolate.)

Hee! Welcome to the fangirlyness.

I keep reading stuff and thinking "damn, I wish I hadn't read that!" and then promptly go back for more.

It seems to me that it was mentioned early on that they only had 3 pilots capable of flying puddlejumpers, but that there were more jumpers available and that they were trying to train others as the season progressed.

I think I missed that. I wonder how many people have the gene? Either naturally, or through gene therapy?
