danvers asked, and I'll do anything for her. (Because maybe then she'll post more of that lovely South American AU, the one where John is all hot and sweaty and Rodney is all hot and sweaty and they're in trouble and did I mention hot and sweaty?)

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

Er, I have no idea. I own twenty some-odd bootleg MST3Ks, which I like to watch over and over and then play in the background while I'm beading. Do those count? Other than that, I'm not sure we own any real movies. We're happy with the Netflix thing.

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:

1. The Sound of Music - I can't help it. I love it. It's romantic and beautiful to watch. I get sniffly each and every time they sing "Edelweiss". And come on, admit it, Christopher Pummer is totally hot.
2. It's a Wonderful Life - Yeah, yeah, I know, it's kind of a cliche to list this one. But it's such a fabulous movie. And Jimmy Stewart. What more is there to say?
3. Them! - You just can't go wrong with giant ants in a movie. Actually, I love just about all of the B science fiction movies from the '50's. But this is one of my favorites. Along with The Thing From Another World. (More James Arness!). The movies are fun, hokey, and sometimes silly, and say a lot about what was going on in the country at the time.
4. The Poseidon Adventure - Disaster at sea! Ernie Borgnine! Sappy songs! Heroism in the face of certain death! Come on, disaster movies don't get any better than this. Well, maybe they do - The Towering Inferno.
5. Tremors - how not?
