Home Sweet Home
Dec. 28th, 2005 12:19 pmI'm home! I'm home! Home, home, home!
It was a lovely trip, and much fun was had, but boy, I'm SO glad to be back. It was a longish stay this time, and we're both a little worn out by it. I think I need to huddle in bed and just pet the cats for a while. I missed my bed! And the kitties. And our coffee. And our shower.
I am downloading "The Tower" right this very minute, yay! I also came home to find Christmas cards from
reedfem and
gigitrek, more yay! ::smooches them:: You both are so sweet, and so organized. ::is jealous:: Thank you!
And lookee, I also got a fabulous present from
wychwood! It's a an absolutely beautiful cover for A Little Bit Crazy. I love it!

I'm putting that up on my website right now. *g* And then I'll go unpack. Because if I don't unpack right now, I won't do it for another three months. And maybe when I'm done "The Tower" will be finished downloading.
I hope everyone had a terrific holiday!

Date: 2005-12-28 06:59 pm (UTC)I missed you! And not at all because I woke up this morning with my head being molested by a completely pointless PWP and I was wondering who I could mug into giving it the once-over and deciding whether it was worth putting it out for human consumption. God I'm selfless!

Date: 2005-12-28 07:44 pm (UTC)And if you sent me the PWP I wouldn't mind reading it, honest, I wouldn't. Because I'm selfless, too. In a very big way.
::checks email:: Is it there yet??????

Date: 2005-12-28 07:26 pm (UTC)Long family visits are exhausting. This is the first holiday season in years I didn't end up at the farm--well, we still call it "the farm" even though we mean my grandparent's house, since they sold the farm to my uncle--for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. Granted it is sometimes oddly restful, but the extended family is so HUUUUUUUUGE on that side that it gets pretty exhausting after just a couple days.
Think the last time I counted, they numbered over thirty when I included my dad, stepmother, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Whew.
*whistles*
Pretty, pretty art for a pretty, pretty story. :)

Date: 2005-12-28 07:49 pm (UTC)It's good to be home. I know what you mean about long family visits. We kept it to my immediate family, aside from my uncle, and some friends. But even so, every day had a social event so we're ready to kick back for a while and relax. And not eat or drink for a little while. A couple of hours, at least. I've got quite the little holiday buddha belly going on here. ::burps::
And thank you re: the story, I'm so tickled by the cover art!

Seriously, the last holiday at the farm, there was so much leftovers and snack food just laying around that I don't think I stopped eating or nibbling for more than 20 consecutive minutes at a time. Probably less.
Except to sleep. Which was hard, what with 15 gazillion relatives crowding the house. I think Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner, when eaten in large enough quantities, can indeed entirely replace your body's need for sleep.
Unless it's turkey, in which case you fall victim to the triptophan, or however the hell that's spelled. And you ever notice how turkey-induced sleep always makes you feel like you've overslept?
It's a conspiracy, I'm telling you. *g*

Date: 2005-12-29 03:18 pm (UTC)LOL, I think you're right. I think it also has to do with the combination of coffee and alcohol, too--half wired, half sedated, and next thing you know, you're eating again.
I'm feeling very deprived here at work. No food!

It was so dull without you.
And I am far from organized, but sweet I'll give you. Humble too. *g*
Lovely cover. It took me three viewings to finally notice John... Gah.
