SGA 3.11: The Return Part 2

Eeeeeeeee! I'm so happy to see my team again! Oh, John! Oh, Rodney!! Oh, JACK! I'm afraid I can't make any real coherent commentary on things like plot, because there was some serious hotness going on. But I will say that it was fun, and not bad for the second part of a two parter, which have always been rather weak in the past. I was a little disoriented by their "flashback" scene--the rewinding effect made me think 'OMG, Rodney got hold of a time travel machine!'. Even though that would have made no sense at all. I thought the plot twist was clever, and I do so love that our team thinks their way out of trouble (okay, and sometimes into trouble) rather than shooting their way out. And I loved that all of them were involved--we don't get enough of Weir and Carson running around and looking all kinds of tough and hot. It was fun to see how the director managed to squeeze everyone into as many shots as possible, especially in the jumper. I can't help but think it was rather crowded in there. And knowing the cast's lack of love for filming scenes in it, I'm thinking it was a challenging shoot.
On to the pretty pictures!
This week, starring John Sheppard's pretty, pretty biceps.
And General Jack O'Neill, looking very dashing. And wet. I liked the wet part. Even if that bit did drag on a little too long. They could have just shown John and Rodney making out in the jumper instead.
And poor, mortified Rodney. I LOVED when he shot Niam. I think because I truly did not expect it.
Rodney explaining his plan, and looking downright edible while doing it. Is there anyone else who thought maybe something was up during this scene? Rodney seemed way too happy about his impending demise.
Then I got all distracted. Look! Cute fluffy hair! Big blue eyes!
Um, yeah. Distracted. Pointy fingers!
Aw, John, with the little handwavy thing. So cute!
This made me grin. A lot. (And damn, Ronon as glowy skin, doesn't he?)
In trouble again. Why does that make me so happy? Maybe I'm expecting the aliens to FINALLY make them do it.
John, he's a replicator. Stop with the flirting, it just won't work.
Scrunchie face of cuteness.
Serious John. (Or, maybe, JF trying not to laugh.)
Hands. For chelle. *g*
I love this pic.
John trying to figure out how Rodney was going to have a career by being a drama queen.
Er, sorry, a little out of order. But hey, I was distracted!
Oh, Teyla, so pretty, and so underutilized, especially in this ep.
Ronon just wants to shoot them. ::pets::
Weir notices Ronon's glowy skin. I love that she's right around collarbone height. *g*
Happy John!
Happy Rodney!
And last but not least, our Big Damn Hero.
Squeeee!!!
(ETA-please feel free to take and play with!)

Date: 2006-11-21 11:40 pm (UTC)I just thought it was the ordinary SG-1 weirdness. Rodney is always weird around SG-1 in SGA. Especially when the SG-1 writers write him...in SG-1. *nods*

Date: 2006-11-22 01:06 am (UTC)I MISSED YOU SHOW! omg, it's at 13%...go faster!! Ronon does look like he got many many spa treatments. I guess that is what the Athosians are really known for...is that an AU I should write? No, no, I should not, I will be working on the pirates thing.
Did I squeal enough? I totally totally did not.

Date: 2006-11-22 01:12 am (UTC)Ronon has definitely being getting spa treatments. The athosians are very good with mud. And yes, that is an AU you should write. ::nudges you::

This epi was all ALL shades of squee!!

Date: 2006-11-22 02:31 am (UTC)OMG that was an awesome episode and I think I must grab a few of these. If only to stare longingly at them. I want to give the team a big, big hug (and then push John and Rodney to the closest bedroom where they can, um, come up with a Plan O for...yeah, together. :)

Date: 2006-11-22 03:28 am (UTC)Plan O. ::giggles:: I'm likin' that plan a LOT.
Plan O

I finally got to watch and it made me very happy. Plus, Gero set up the teams so perfectly. Rodney with John, Elizabeth with Ronon, and Teyla with Carson. For me that's totally where the chemistry is among those six.
Now Rodney gets a nice 'you were a hero' blowjob. Yay!!

Date: 2006-11-22 03:30 am (UTC)And afterward, John was definitely showing Rodney his belly. (is still giggling over the mating display).
You're so right about the teams. It was a fun set-up. I think Ronon and Elizabeth need to have adventures together.

Date: 2006-11-22 03:40 am (UTC)And Teyla got to look hot shooting arms crossed Teal'c style which was awesome.

Date: 2006-11-22 03:53 am (UTC)This episode was so pretty. But, god, they need to use Teyla more. Also, Elizabeth's hair makes her look sort of like a hobbit. Not in a bad way! But... hobbit.

Date: 2006-11-22 02:05 pm (UTC)And hobbit hair! I think you're right! I thought it looked pretty cute on her though.

Date: 2006-11-22 04:30 am (UTC)Plus I could not get over how hot they all looked in black.
I LOVED the scene with Ronon and him looking at each other.
And the head twerp... just made me squee.
I love your comments - I never seem to be able to get words out of my head onto writing but you always echo my sentiments :D

Date: 2006-11-22 10:55 am (UTC)Oh, the underwater scenes with Jack didn't so much drag for me, as took a couple of years off my life from anxiety; I could barely take it any longer.
I love that you've capped that moment where Ronon and Rodney exchange glances.
In the cap you've got there of Ronon and Elizabeth exchanging glances she looks about 12.
You didn't cap the thwapping scene?! Not that you should, but I'm just surprised you didn't!
Oh Rodney's sweet, sweet face. And yeah, it felt weird that scene where Rodney lets himself be distracted from picking the lock; I kept thinking he would rather snap his usual 'hey I'm working here?!' And especially his reluctant 'uhm one, one-and-a-half seconds...' sounded off. But I thought the writers had made Rodney OOC or something, was already forming a bitching comment in my head; 'Rodney would never act like this omgwtf!!', when it turned out this was all part of the plan. The pieces of the puzzle fell into place so smoothly!
Ok *cough* sorry for rambling.
Thanks for the spam!

Date: 2006-11-22 02:12 pm (UTC)Elizabeth does look like a little kid in that pic with Ronon, doesn't she? So cute!
And you're right, Rodney was definitely 'off' in that lock-picking scene, I couldn't quite figure out what was going on, and certainly couldn't figure out why their plan as stated was a good one. But then there was the head thwap and that made me forget everything. *g*. I did cap it, but it was hard to get a good image of it.

Dude, with the amount of codpieces in that shot? They're definitely the right type of aliens to enforce that particular rule.

Date: 2006-11-22 02:54 pm (UTC)I think I have found a plot hole. A minor one, but some of you can explain that away? It's the drones! When they followed the puddle jumper, they didn't go into the water, but Carson was able to made them just do that. Why?!
