Both [livejournal.com profile] gigitrek and [livejournal.com profile] gypsy86 have written fics in the same sort of universe as my Turning the Page ficlet. This makes me very happy, because both fics are such a delight. I'm all warm and fuzzy over it.

::hugs them both, bonking their heads together in the process::

[livejournal.com profile] gypsy86's "Did You Get the Bear" is a lovely, warm Jack/Daniel moment, touching and funny and very sweet, with a little bit of sad, too. I'm so happy she's writing SG-1 now. [livejournal.com profile] gigitrek's "Labour Day" is about, yes, that. Or, as most of us know it, Labor. *g*. Jack and Sam are just great here. I adore Gigi's take on Jack. He's trying so damn hard. I just want to take him home and cuddle him, although I suppose I'll have to leave that to Daniel.

I say now, go forth and read both fics!

In the words of the great Prime Minister Trudeau, living next to the United States is like being in bed with an elephant. And then there was something about it really affecting you, but the elephant, not so much.

So leave us our Us and our REs and our ehs and our internal fighting with Quebec, eh? They're all we've got.

But thank you for the recommedation anyway, Yankee.

Hey, how did you know I was a Yankee fan?

You're very welcome. I loved the fic. And your icon? It still makes me laugh.

aww. thanks. *blush*

how sad is it that I read gigi's story and immediately got another plot bunny? This thing has taken on a life of it's own.

Now that's not sad at all. It's happy. Very happy. Go plot bunny, go!!

Soon, it will be moving into its own place and looking for work!

Go, independent bunny, though. And you have to post the stories at Gateway and JackDanielites (and alpha_gate if you want, but they're kind of in my bad books lately for ridiculous yammering and a surfeit of bad fic.) Because people have been telling me they haven't read the earlier stories (despite the fact I linked to both.)

...and if I knew what any of those things were, I'd try to do it. *g*

They're Yahoo Groups, like EntStSlash and maco_love. Just go to the Groups main page and put "alpha gate" (or Gateway or whatever) into the search box. Gateway is all slash, JackDanielites is Jack/Daniel slash (obviously) and Alpha Gate is billed as "slash and gen", but a fair amount of het leaks through, too.

aha! Cool beans. This is good, as I would prefer not to post a lot of fanfic in my lj, since my real name has already been connected to it by an astute observer and that is not of the good.

Oh. Sorry. I didn't know it was a secret. But it was just your first name, anyway, and I'm sure there are many around.

Please do join at least one of the groups. I think Gateway's the best for straight (so to speak) fic and minimal chatter, but they're all pretty decent.

Grrrl's plotbunnies should probably be classed as a biohazard. They are vigorous and overly fertile. Like tribbles.
