A silly bit of almost smut. For

John caught up with Rodney in the hallway, then stared at him in astonishment. "Rodney, is that *cake* you're eating?"

"I suppose it could be considered cake," Rodney mused, licking his fork. "Almost a custard-like texture, definitely a chocolate flavor--excuse me, Major?" He lifted the plate away from John's outstretched hand and quickened his pace.

"Come on, Rodney, lemme--" John didn't care that he was whining, right there in the hallway, because, god, it was cake, a huge slab of cake, with frosting and everything and was that actually a layer of raspberries? "It's nice to share."

Reaching his door, Rodney huddled protectively around his plate. "As I'm sure you have realized by now, I'm not all that nice, not really." He peered over his shoulder as he activated the door release.

John took advantage of the deserted hallway and Rodney's preoccupied hands, and cupped Rodney's ass. "But I'm nice. I can be *very* nice, as a matter of fact."

Rodney slipped away from him. "Oh please, could you be any more transparent?"

Nodding rapidly, John followed. "Yes, yes, I could."

Rodney sat on his bed, and John sat directly next to him, smiling his most winning smile. He put everything he had into it, and was contemplating a declaration of undying love when Rodney exclaimed, "God, you have no shame, do you?"

Okay, so a no-go on the love declaration. John realized that a direct approach would be very risky, because cake ending up on the floor would be a lose-lose situation. A strategy was needed. A very crafty strategy.

"So," John drawled, easing a hand under Rodney's shirt and onto the small of his back. He sidled closer to Rodney, until they were thigh to thigh, and, eyeing Rodney's neck, leaned in close.

"Don't even try it," Rodney said, around a mouthful of cake.

John blinked, then withdrew. "Try what?"

Rodney cocked his head and gave him a look.

"Fine, I don't want your damn cake," John told him. "I'll go and get my own."

"Last piece, by the way," Rodney said as John stood.

John fell back down onto the bed, scowling. "It's rude to talk with your mouth full, you know."

Rodney nodded in agreement, then shoveled another forkful in his mouth. "Is really, really good," he mumbled.

The floor really wasn't that dirty, John decided. And while it was possible that the cake would fall frosting side down, it was also possible it might just fall on the bed during the direct frontal assault. Or better yet, on Rodney. Frosting side down. Which, of course, would be more fun if Rodney were naked--

"What?" John asked, when he realized Rodney was watching him through narrowed eyes.

Rodney shook his head, scooped up a generous portion of cake, and held the fork out to him. "Here, before you wreak all kinds of havoc."

John didn't protest. He promptly opened his mouth, and, oh, yes, sinfully delicious. Rich and heavy and damn, if that wasn't butterfat he didn't know what was. He sighed with delight. "Wow."

"Yes, precisely," Rodney agreed.

"Mmm. More." He reached for the fork, but Rodney shooed his hand away. "I'll wreak havoc," John threatened.

"Ah yes, the fine art of military intimidation." Rodney fed him another forkful.

"Right, and you're so intimidated."

"Quivering in fear." Rodney leaned in and kissed John's cheek, then licked a crumb from the corner of his mouth. "By the way, there's actually plenty of cake in the mess," he said.

"What?" John said, indignant. Another luscious-looking forkful floated in front of him. "I--you lied--" He grabbed Rodney's wrist, holding it steady and took the mouthful of cake. He could tell Rodney off later, as soon as he finished eating, because yes, those *were* raspberries. Of a sort.

"Because it's a lot more fun this way." Rodney grinned at him. Shamelessly.

John thought for a moment. Rodney had a point. "Might be even more fun naked," he suggested.

As turned out, he was right. Especially about that 'frosting-side-down' bit.
