The one where John was forced to kneel, and then got wet.

What? I'm shallow that way.

Seriously though, I thought it was a decent filler ep that kept me entertained but certainly not high on my 'rewatch' list. I liked that everyone was involved (Zelenka! Cute asian Science Girl who finally got a name! Elizabeth and Teyla actually spoke to each other!). Although, why was Elizabeth there? Just for the fun of it? Not that I minded, I like the character but it didn't seem like the sort of thing where she would be necessary.

Very cute 'you're with me--or I'm with you' moment with John, though.

At first I was afraid the ep would be a retread of "Sunday" with Teyla being possessed, but then it went in a different direction, thank goodness. Actually, it kept changing directions, because I thought John would end up being forced to fly the jumper for the queen, then it became a 'disarm the bomb' plot, and all those changes probably helped with the ep because it kept me from dwelling on things like jeeze, is that the best they could do when it came to tying up the wraith queen? I would have had her wrapped with sixteen rolls of duct tape, then tied with rope and then chained to the damn table. And the glaringly obvious redshirts--could it have been any more predictable?

Although I so sympathize with Rodney on the name thing. I'm terrible with names. It's very embarrassing.

When Teyla was trying to pull information from her mind, it seemed to me like distracting the queen would have been a good idea, kick her or something to mess up her concentration. That's what I would have done.

And why oh why did Ronon simply leave Teyla there with the queen when she told him to?

And to back up a bit, why didn't Rodney believe Teyla? The most paranoid and cautious man that ever lived? I guess he was excited and wanted to play with his big new toy.

But, weak plot points aside, I did enjoy many aspects of it. Not as many character moments as I would have liked, but John talking about The Abyss was fun, because yeah John, you are a dork, but a really cute one and that's why Rodney loves you so. And I laughed out loud when John said "I hate queens." Just something about JF's delivery. Personally, I love evil wraith queens. It made me happy to see one again. It also made me happy that Rodney shot her in the end, and then John did, too. Shades of "The Defiant One". Very cute moment with them afterward.

And finally, Rodney was as cute as can be in the final scene, all excited about the drilling station again. I love that his love of science and the thrill of discovery jumps back in full swing after all the danger is gone. John seemed to love it, too, with his little 'yup, that's my boyfriend' style comment. It was a nice Rodney moment--not snarky or fearful or complaining Rodney, but Rodney the Scientist.

Oh, one last thing--Carson who? I know, this is Stargate, but still. ::rolls eyes::

The ep had some good points (yes, John falling to his knees was one of them! Zelenka was another!) but overall, the plot stuff sucked, I thought. Yep, the red shirt guys were too obviously red shirts. Yep, Elizabeth had no point in being there. Yep, Ronon should never have left Teyla alone with the queen. And most importantly, if the damned queen could stand up through Rodney's P90 burst, I severely doubt John's few shots from his handgun killed her. C'mon, guys, self-healing Wraith, remember?? I was talking out loud to the computer for how stupid it was to leave her there with a fully-powered Cruiser and just walk away. Damn! (I always wonder why they haven't begun to shoot the Wraith in the head, since they seem to heal all their other wounds, but I guess that's another plot thing that we need for exciting episodes....)

So, overall, everyone looked great, John was forced to kneel, and the plotline sucked. :) IMHO, of course....

I thought it was a decent plot with weak execution. I love those Wraith queens. And it occurs to me now that Ronon leaving Teyla in there with here was all part of the plan. Or else they would never have let the queen leave the station.

But yeah, on the death of the queen--John, you can really tell she's dead by just glancing down at her? Come on! That was a definite weak moment. ::rolls eyes::
