Something I noticed in "Tao of Rodney"
Jan. 26th, 2007 08:57 amOh, John. ::giggles::
I was looking at my screencaps from "Tao of Rodney" the other day, and saw something I hadn't noticed before:

Curtains? Sparkly sheer floor-to-ceiling curtains?

Yes, curtains. (ignoring the dangerously placed candle for the moment) Sheer curtains with a lacy shiny gold pattern and matching tie-backs. Seriously, they're lovely and add that touch of sparkly magic to an otherwise boring and institutional room. John wanted to dress up the place a little, make it his own, you know? After a hard day out in the field, he wants to be able to come back to someplace special where he can relax and feel pretty.
So, did he and Rodney go shopping together for these during their six week exile back on Earth? (John wanted to fix up his office at SGC?) Or were the curtains dropped off as part of a regular Daedalus supply run? John sorting through the boxes, snatching them up and clutching them to his chest with joy. "Oh, Rodney! Look! These will be perfect!"
Come on, there's a fic in all this somewhere!!
Yes, I'm easily amused. *g*

Date: 2007-01-26 04:53 pm (UTC)I seriously wonder what the writers are THINKING.
Unlike all the other times, when I wonder what JF is thinking.
I was talking to
Compare that to JF who's only had real chemistry with the actress who portrayed Chaya and, for a few brief moments few and far in between, with RL.

Date: 2007-01-26 05:03 pm (UTC)I guess the except to that would be the woman from "Inferno", but that came across to (me at least) as blatent tugging at Rodney's pigtails, which made it was hard for me to take it seriously.
Then there's his guy from "The Game", which will never stop being funny, especially when compared to Rodney's person.

It was adorable! And oh, you seem to be one of the 3% of fandom who didn't hate her? *delight* I thought she was an interesting enough character...and there was a definite connection, a spark in John's eyes especially.
That spark was totally lacking in Inferno, I think -- yeah, his body said one thing ("Pretty Girl! Grrrab!"), but his eyes and his smile were without emotion.
...to my over-interpreting self, anyway. *cough*
I KNOW! I was just, "Writers, are you SERIOUS?"

Date: 2007-01-26 05:37 pm (UTC)Funny thing is, I didn't find John Crichton that hot, but Cameron Mitchell is very much so. Go figure. I think all the brooding in "Farscape" just became too tiresome for me. Even though he brooded prettily.

I had to stop the vid and giggling for a moment before I could continue watching. It was so perfect. Yes, John, you're his 'oracle'.
As for "Sanctuary" I didn't hate Chaya, although I felt the actress was a little bland. She was certainly pretty, and John was so cute and awkward with her that it worked well.
