Like just about everyone else on my flist, I'm sad and mopey about the end of SGA. I had hoped it would go one more season, figuring they'd use it as a lead-in for the stoopid new series about stoopid people who are not John and Rodney and Teyla and Ronon et al. Especially since it was doing relatively well in the ratings. WTF, MGM?

It's all just so wrong! I've been involved in the fandom since the very beginning, and still am enamored with the show. And John and Rodney. I wanted the show to go on forever, much like I suspect the fandom will. A movie is not the same as a series, but it's still a chance to see our heroes in action. It's not over! The John/Rodney love will prevail!

That was *exactly* what I had hoped as well. Seeing the news first thing in the morning was such a shock. I went through two Kleenex-Boxes and a very awkward explanation to my boss in the office later that day, regarding my red eyes.

Anyway, I'm just so proud to be involved in a fandom with such a limitless amount of talent in all spheres - we'll be around forever! As for the new "property," not that I would have watched it anyway, but I'm a bit hurt that apparently I'm demographically irrelevant.

I know, it's like they're telling us 'don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out'. Sad thing is, we really are demographically irrelevant, and that is probably handed down by the advertisers. Despite the data that shows we are the ones who actually have money and make the spending decisions.

It sucks.

But we'll always have Rodney's ass and John's pouty pouty lips.

Oh, thank you for the feel good pics - very feel good, very look good, very yummy. Part of why I love the show and am in a state of shock and withdrawal. Good thing we have 15 more eps to help ease the pain. SGU, at this point, doesn't interest me. Still too raw, especially when it sounds like Wright & Cooper sacrificed Atlantis for their new baby. I am heartened that even though we won't have new weekly eps, we will have movies (plural I hope) and most important of all, the fandom will continue. John and Rodney and the team still have plenty of adventures and hot sex ahead, don't they? *crosses fingers*

I have the feeling that the decision came down from MGM (who I lay the blame on, personally). Wright and Cooper are probably just being politic about it. I'm sure they would have loved to do both shows, after all, it's what they do! Not to make excuses, but hopefully they did what was best for the franchise. I'd rather have the movies than no SGA at all.

Still, it just totally sucks.
